The Harmony Aviators is a indie folk duo whose music revolves around two-part harmonies and stripped-down arrangements. Behind the duo is the married couple Malin & Jörgen Larsson Lindström, based in Ystad, Sweden.
The very first song, “Sunset & Stars”, was released in 2020. It was frequently aired on Swedish Radio P4 and discovered by an indie label in Manchester, UK, that offered a publishing deal. Since then, the duo has regularly released new songs and gained attention for their intimate concerts, which blend their music with storytelling.
It all started with the country band Loop & Lil. The band was formed back in 2016 after an amazing summer night in Malin’s and Jörgen’s old house in the small town of Ystad, Sweden. A few friends came over to cook, drink, and play and sing some of their favorite country songs by the kitchen table. Just for the fun of it.
But things developed. Before they knew it, the house was crowded with people who wanted to listen. Before they knew it, people started to book them for living room shows. Before they knew it, they were selling out local venues.
When Loop & Lil in 2020 decided to take a short break, Malin and Jörgen started to explore songwriting together as a duo. And, so, The Harmony Aviators was born.
Then the pandemic hit the world – and the duo had all of a sudden plenty of time to work on their songs. They recorded them in their home studio in Ystad during isolation and had music producer and multi-instrumentalist Amir Aly join in remotely from Yla Studios. The outcome of the sessions, the ten-song album “To Love and Live and Hide Out”, was released in 2021.
The Harmony Aviators has since then done numerous live shows and, in October 2024, released the 5-song EP “Wildfire”. The same year, the duo was nominated and performed at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards in Marshall, Texas.
In 2025, The Harmony Aviators went on tour as opening act for American artist Elisabeth Carlisle, and played at theaters as well as small venues in Montana, Washington, Oregon and California.
But more than anything else, the duo has played, and continues to play, intimate shows in their own part of the world — as far south as you can go in Sweden – and release new songs written by the kitchen table.
